Seven years to the day since he started at Atlas Gentech (formerly Security Merchants) fearless Fred Wilkings is off to the greener pastures, or in his case, university to complete a secondary teachers degree so he can teach electronics in high schools.
Always with a smile on his face and his dry sense of humour, Fred has always been one of the true gentlemen of the security industry.
Fred’s formative years were spent in the Royal NZ Navy as a electronics & electrical tech and upon leaving he entered the security industry where he worked for various distribution and installation companies. He also gained an MBA from Auckland University whilst holding down full-time employment and raising his family.
From everyone at Atlas Gentech, we wish you well Fred and only hope that the high school students you end up teaching give you the respect with your wealth of knowledge you deserve.
As of Monday 1 March 2010, Todd Ryan will take over Fred’s role as Specifier/Technical Sales and being the key contact for the Concept Dealer Network (CDN).
